CHROMALLOY NEW YORK HISTORY

Chromalloy New York began in 1968 as a start-up technology center for the entire Chromalloy Group. Known as Research and Technology Division, the original charter was to develop technology, coatings, manufacturing and repair techniques for the world's air fleet which began utilizing a new generation of high by-pass ratio jet engines. The leadership consistently pursued the most challenging vision to be "world class".

In 1970, Chromalloy Research and Technology was certified as a FAA Repair Station. Through the 1970s, 1980s, and early 1990s, Chromalloy Research and Technology Division continued to add repairs, coatings, and manufacturing capabilities for the latest engine components from Allison, Garrett, General Electric, Lycoming, Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce engines. The company grew at a steady pace with the increased passenger traffic following the deregulation of the airlines, having combined to create a unique company, truly superior in the areas of technologically advanced services, quality products and rapid response to customer needs.

In 1994, Chromalloy Research and Technology was renamed Chromalloy New York to reflect the common division naming convention and to indicate that the company was more than a research facility. For the remaining portion of the 1990s, CNY continued to offer solutions for many worldwide customers with the use of Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) approvals and the use of FAA approved repairs for the sophisticated HPT airfoils of the latest gas turbine engines.

What began as a small laboratory on a gravel road in Orangeburg, New York has grown to be the largest division of Chromalloy Gas Turbine Corporation. Today's team at CNY continues to innovate and offer customized solutions to our worldwide customers with the realization that to maintain "world class" status we must reinvent ourselves to continually meet our customers objectives.
